Birth Doula Support
To support you and your family during the birth of your baby, this service usually consists of the following:
- two antenatal visits (an opportunity for you to voice any concerns, look at birth plans and get to know one another)
- support during labour and birth (your doula will be on call 24/7 from two weeks before your estimated due date and two weeks after)
- two postnatal visits to ensure you are settling into motherhood, feeling loved and nourished
This is a flexible service and can be tailored to suit your needs.
Postnatal Doula Support
This service is to support you for as long as you need after your baby is born. This postpartum stage is often overlooked in our society; we are expected to bounce back way before nature intended, juggling our physical recovery with our bonding experience and the upkeep of our homes, work and existing family commitments. This service encourages women to spend time bonding with their baby and self-nurturing, while your doula can take care of other tasks. This may include light housework, taking care of the baby while you shower or nap, preparing meals, or just simply some friendly support when the influx of visitors has subsided.
There are many cultures from around the world who honour the placenta and it is becoming increasingly popular for western mothers to consume their placenta after birth in the form of capsules.
Our encapsulation process workspace is thoroughly sterilised and sanitised before and after each service. We are fully-qualified in food hygiene, infection control and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point). There will only ever be one placenta at a time in the unit in order to reduce the risk of cross contamination.
